Hello breast cancer survivor family and friends, I am honored that you are interested in joining this new project Breast Cancer Builds. I am a rookie survivor. I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction in May of 2007, but I am on fire with gratitude and joy. I am happy to be alive and the way I want to show it is by helping others. I envision an army of breast cancer survivors building a Habitat House together! That is tangible gratitude. Not only are we building the house, but we are also raising money to provide low income women in Dallas County with 1,000 mammogram and breast health seminars.

I am asking all builders to make a donation of at least $25.00 to the cause. This is not required to participate.

We will build for eight Saturdays starting on March 1, 2008 through May 10, 2008. We start at 8:00am and end at 4:00pm. You can work the whole day or half of a day. You can work all of the Saturdays or only one Saturday. We want this to be fun for you!

• We work rain or shine.
• Wear long jeans or pants.
• Wear closed-toe shoes! NO SANDALS on the build site!
• Bring hand tools such as hammer, tool belt, nail apron, measuring tape, work gloves.
• Lunch is provided! Childcare is not. No kids under 16 allowed on the build site!
